Setup Process

Backyard Flicks works on a systematic schedule. Once BYF staff arrives at the event location and finalizes the contract details, we begin the following procedures:

Stage 1

Set up - This includes screen mounting, audio, and video staging. Wire, electrical layouts, and safety procedures are done. It is very important that during this stage guest and individuals need to keep a safe distance from electrical cords, control unit, and near the screen. This process generally takes approximately 1 hour.

Stage 2

Calibration phase - On this portion the backyard flicks technician will be playing a musical CD to both temporarily entertain guest and on-lookers. This also allows the technician to make sure all audio system are functioning correctly and as the ambient light darkens the technician will power up the projector and begin video calibration and position. This procedure generally takes approximately 1 hour.

Stage 3

Pre-Show - Once the technician has completed the staging procedure he/she will contact the host to advise that we can begin the pre-show presentation. This will typically be conducted at approximately 8:30pm (summer hours). The pre-show contains a quick Backyard Flicks introduction, a custom event notice such as a birthday announcement, a sights and sound presentation will follow. After the sights and sound segment of the pre-show a few motion picture trailers will prepare your guest for the main feature.

Stage 4

Main Feature - After both the sights and sound presentation and movie trailers are completed there is one more Backyard Flicks introduction and the film will begin. During the main event a technician will be present to monitor and may do some minor adjustment but will not interfere in the presentation.

Stage 5

Tear-Down - Once the main feature is completed and Backyard Flicks fulfilled its obligations we will be begin tear down procedures which generally takes 30 to 45 minutes at most. When tear down is completed we will greet our clients a farewell and advise them that we will contact them within a few days to get their evaluations.
